Great white bread recipe to try. You'll never want store bought bread again.

Ingredients
- 1 1 /2 pound loaf
- 1 1/8 cups buttermilk
- (I use powdered buttermilk: 4 T. dry buttermilk with 1 1/8 cups water)
- 3 cups bread flour
- 1 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 T. butter
- 3 T. honey
- 1/4 tsp. baking soda
- 2 tsp. yeast
Directions
- Put in order according to your bread machines directions.

Dang, this is making me want to get a bread machine again. I haven't had one in a couple of years. I've bookmarked it and might try to make it by hand.

Babs it should work fine doing it by hand. I don't bake the loaf in my current machine-the crust gets to tough. I loved loved loved my welbilt bread machine. It made the best loaf of bread. But it is no longer with us and I can't find another one like it. I also have a good oatmeal roll recipe--that is in my bread machine right now. I just took out my cranberry bread out of the oven and I am cooking my chicken and wild rice to make the wild rice chicken hot dish. Yum!
