Chocolate-Toffee Chip Cookies Recipe
A sweet treat! The toffee adds a wonderful texture to these cookies... These are always a favorite when I take them to work.

Ingredients
  • 1 Pkg. (approx 12 oz) Semi-Sweet (or Bittersweet) Chocolate Chips
  • 1/2 Pkg. (approx 6 oz)Toffee Chips
  • 1 cup(s) butter, at room temperature
  • 3/4 C. sugar
  • 3/4 C. brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs, at room temperature
  • 2 tsp vanilla
  • 2 1/4 C.unsifted flour
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp. salt

Directions
  1. Heat oven to 375ºF.
  2. Stir flour with baking soda and salt; set aside.
  3. In large mixer bowl, cream butter with sugar, brown sugar (it will look like wet sand)
  4. Add eggs (one at a time), and vanilla.
  5. Gradually blend dry mixture into creamed mixture.
  6. Stir in toffee and chocolate chips.
  7. Drop by tablespoon onto ungreased cookie sheets.
  8. Bake at 375ºF for 9 to 11 minutes, or until golden brown.

This is exactly how I make mine but I use a whole pkg of Special Dark Chips and a whole pkg of SKOR bits. I don't make them very often because I can't stay out of them! You definitely have my 5!

Sweet but lousy, sorry. This recipe creates cookies that spread, and end up too thin. Chocolate chip, even with toffee, should have a little weight to them. This recipe also doesn't allow for shortening substitution to cut the fat. I give it a very low mark, especially when there are so many other recipes for good toll house, choc chip cookies out there. --RMx
