Oyster Dressing

- 1 cup chopped onion shopping list
- 1 cup sliced celery & tops shopping list
- 1/2 cup melted butter shopping list
- 4 8 oz. cans oysters, drained & chopped shopping list
- 2 tsp poultry seasoning shopping list
- 1 tsp sage shopping list
- 1/2 tsp pepper shopping list
- 1 1/2 cups chicken broth shopping list
- 1 beaten egg shopping list
- 10 cups croutons or dried bread cubes shopping list
How to make it
- Cook onion and celery in butter till tender.
- Add oysters and seasonings. Cook 2 minutes.
- Combine broth and egg. Pour butter mixture and broth mixture over bread. Toss lightly.
- Will stuff a 15-20 lb. turkey.
- For casserole, add 1/2 cup more broth. Put into oven-safe casserole dish. Cover with foil. Bake at 325 for 1 hour.
- NOTES: If you aren't a huge oyster fan, you can use just 2 cans. I've also omitted the oysters completely for family who don't like them at all.
