Cheery Chocolate Animal Cookies

this is just plain simple and quick using store bought chocolate sandwich cookies............kids will love to help make these.........enjoy courtesy 100 best bake sale recipes
Ingredients
- 1 2/3 - cups ( 10 ounce) package Reese's peanut butter morsels shopping list
- 1- cup Hershey's semi-sweet chocolate chips or other brand..... shopping list
- 2-tablespoons shortening .....( do not use butter, margarine or spread or oil) shopping list
- 1- package ( 20 ounces) chocolate type sandwich cookies .......... shopping list
- 1 - package( 11 ounces) animal cookies shopping list
How to make it
- line trays or cookies sheets with wax paper
- combine peanut butter chips, chocolate chips and shortening in a 2 quart glass measuring cup with a handle or use a bowl
- microwave on high 1 1/2 to 2 minutes or until chips are melted and mixture is smooth when stirred
- using a fork, dip each cookie into the melted chip mixture
- gently tap fork on side of cup or bowl to remove exceess chocolate....
- place coated cookies on prepared pans
- top each cookie with an animal cracker
- chill until chocolate is set about 30 minutes
- kids will love these as well as the adults.............
- makes 4 dozen cookies..........
