Ingredients
  • 4 New York strip steaks, sliced 1-inch thick
  • 1 sprig rosemary, fresh
  • 1 cup of red wine
  • 1 tsp salt

Directions
  1. Mix together rosemary, the red wine, and in a small bowl, then let the mixture stand at room temperature for 2-3 hours.
  2. Bring a large griddle or cast-iron skillet to high heat, add the steaks and cook for about 8 minutes per side, (or to desired doneness). The internal temperature should reach at least 145 degrees F for a medium rare steak. Pour in the wine mixture, and let it boil for a minute. Finally, serve the steaks, with sauce, on a deep platter and enjoy.

Do you pour the wine over the steaks and reduce it in the same pan, or do you take the steaks out first and deglaze the pan and then reduce the wine? Thanks! ~Sharon

This is dinner tonight .I looked at many recipes and wine and rosemary can not be wrong!I will deglaze with wine.I always use cast iron!

Is there anything i can substitute wine with.... i don't take alcohol.

The alcohol cooks right out...it just adds a purely succulent touch!
