Spiced Crab Apples

SPICED CRAB APPLES I had a lot of crab apples when I lived in Dayton, Ohio and loved them. They are a little harder to find in Texas, although Central Market now carries them so I buy them occasionally and make this recipe that I have had for several years. Read more See less
Ingredients
- 1 pound crabapples shopping list
- 1 cup sugar shopping list
- 20 whole cloves shopping list
- 5 allspice berries shopping list
- 3” stick cinnamon shopping list
- 1 teaspoon salt shopping list
- 2 cups water shopping list
How to make it
- Wash crabapples then put all ingredients in pot and simmer gently until apples are tender.
- Spoon out fruit and pour a little juice over them and serve hot or cold.

Oh my goodness... I haven't enjoyed spiced crab apples in such a very long time. I was very, very young when I first tasted them and I loved them then as much as I know I would now ;) Thank you so much for sharing Chefmeow! High 5!!!
