SPICED CRAB APPLES
I had a lot of crab apples when I lived in Dayton, Ohio and loved them. They are a little harder to find in Texas, although Central Market now carries them so I buy them occasionally and make this recipe that I have had for seve... More

Ingredients
- 1 pound crabapples
- 1 cup sugar
- 20 whole cloves
- 5 allspice berries
- 3” stick cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups water
Directions
- Wash crabapples then put all ingredients in pot and simmer gently until apples are tender.
- Spoon out fruit and pour a little juice over them and serve hot or cold.
