How to make it

  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
  • Grease cookie sheets
  • Thoroughly cream together shotening, sugar, lemon peel, and vanilla.
  • Add egg and milk; beat thoroughly.
  • Sift dry ingredients together.
  • Add dry ingedients to creamed mixture, mix well.
  • Sir in raisins and nuts.
  • Drop by teaspoons into rushed wheat flakes; toss lightly to coat.
  • Place on greased cookie sheets about 2 inches apart.
  • Top each with a candied - cherry half.
  • Bake for about 12 minutes.
  • Cool slightly before removing form pan.
