Russian Tea Recipe

Ingredients

1 teaspoon cloves

1 teaspoon allspice

5 sticks cinnamon

Put in chesecloth bag.

2 cups lemon juice

2 cups orange juice

3 cups sugar

Directions

Put one gallon of water on to boil.

Add spices in cheesecloth bag

Let simmer in the water 1 1/2 hours.

Put one cup tea leaves in a cheesecloth bag.

Let stand until strong in the water with spices.

Cool.

Add lemon juice, orange juice and sugar.

Serve hot or cold.

Well, I can assure you Russians don't make their tea this way. They do like tea and drink it a lot, but they mostly use the ready black tea. Sometimes from scratch they make lemon tea, peppermint tea (from dry peppermint), chamomile tea (from chamomile flowers), or rose petal tea. I do really like this version, though! 5 forks!
