Dressed Up Hamburger Helper Chili Mac Recipe

Ingredients

1 lb lean ground beef

1 package hamburger helper mix for chili macaroni

3 1/2 cups hot water

2 teaspoons chili powder (or to taste)

1 (14 1/2 ounce) can diced tomatoes, undrained

1 (15-16 ounce) can kidney beans, drained and rinsed

shredded cheddar cheese, if desired

Directions

Cook meat in 12-inch skillet over medium-high heat, stirring occasionally, until no longer pink; drain.

Stir in uncooked Pasta, Sauce Mix and remaining ingredients except cheese.

Heat to boiling, stirring frequently.

Reduce heat; cover and simmer 14 to 16 minutes, stirring occasionally, until pasta is tender. Remove from heat and uncover (sauce will thicken as it stands). Sprinkle with cheese.

Hey.... there is a time and a place for Hambuger Helper... We used to rent this cabin for a week on the FRio River... we took the grandkids... that is one of the time and place things.. That's what they wanted, that's what I got them.. and I also add extra to it... If an extra mouth shows up, I have added extra pasta to make it stretch... they were famous for picking up stray kids just about dinner time!
