Spicy Island Shrimp

- 1/2 cup butter shopping list
- 1 large green pepper-chopped shopping list
- 1 large sweet onion-chopped shopping list
- 1 clove minced garlic shopping list
- 2 1/4 pounds large shrimp-peeled and deveined,21-30 count shopping list
- 2 8oz cans tomato sauce shopping list
- 3 tablespoons chopped green onions shopping list
- 1 tablespoon minced fresh parsley shopping list
- 1 teaspoon salt shopping list
- 1 teaspoon pepper shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper-or to taste shopping list
- 4 cups hot cooked rice-any variety shopping list
How to make it
- In a large skillet or dutch oven, saute green pepper and onion in butter until tender.
- Add garlic and saute for an additional minute.
- Reduce heat and add shrimp. Cook for 5 minutes.
- Stir in tomato sauce, green onions, parsley, and seasonings.
- Bring to a gentle boil, reduce heat to medium low and simmer uncovered for 20 minutes or until slightly thickened.
- Serve hot over rice.
- Note:
- I do not reccommend using pre-cooked shrimp.
