How to make it

  • Combine all ingredients in a large heavy saucepan. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; simmer 1 hour, stirring occasionally; continue to cook until thick (about 30 minutes), stirring frequently.
  • Discard cinnamon. Mash with a potato masher. Cover and chill.
  • Yield: 18 servings (serving size: 1/4 cup).

    Oh, I can smell it - this sounds so good, I want to make some now! Thanks for sharing it, and I hope to have it on the stovetop this weekend while the cranberries are still abundant in the produce aisle and the apples are so sweet. My niece will love this, too - thanks ~
