How to make it

  • 1. Mix dry yeast with warm water in a bowl. Five minutes
  • 2. Warm the cottage cheese in a pan, just to warm it.
  • 3. Combine in bowl all ingredients and add yeast and cottage cheese.
  • 4. Mix to form a stiff dough.
  • 5. Cover and let rise until double in size 30- 60 min.
  • 6. Work down, add to greased 8 inch casserole or 2 quart dish.
  • let rise until light.
  • bake 350 for 30 to 40 mins or light brown. Top with butter.

    Oh boy! Here in the Carribean, dilly is an actual fruit, so you had me excited for a second there. Dill, on the other hand, is something else. Am sure this tastes good still

    I've done it, and it worked out fine. As usual, I had to mess with the recipe. I used Whole Wheat flour as that is all I use these days. I was out of baking soda of all things, so I skipped that. I worried that the two TABLESPOONS of dill was a typo, so I added only one. I nuked the 2% cottage cheese to warm it, added the wet ingredients and the sugar first, then the flour and salt, and finally the baking soda.

    The bread has a fine sharp dill taste when warm or toasted.
