From Cabbage Patch..Famous Kentucky Recipes comes Darthola's cheese roll. I have no idea how many this serves.

Ingredients
  • 1 pound sharp cheese, sharper the better
  • 3 small packages Philadelphia cream cheese (or 1 large one)
  • 1 cup pecans
  • 1 clove garlic
  • Chili powder

Directions
  1. Grind cheese, nuts through a food grinder.
  2. Have cream cheese soft.
  3. Mash garlic clove and add.
  4. Mix all together until thoroughly blended.
  5. Make two rolls about the size of silver dollar in diameter and about 10 inches long.
  6. Next roll the rolls in chili powder sprinkled on waxed paper.
  7. If you roll the rolls with the help of the paper, you'll find it very easy to do.
  8. The amount of chili powder can be varied to suit your own liking but don't stint on it.
  9. When rolls are well covered, place in refrigerator to harden.
  10. Cut into thin slices and serve on crackers or use rounds of melba toast.
  11. We warn you, the effect is much like popcorn and peanuts. After the first bite, it's hard to get enough.

Looks beautiful and sounds yummy! Love the pecans here!

It just amazes me that some of these recipes in "Cabbage Patch" are so vague that I can't post them. Sad state of affairs since some of them sound pretty good to me. Glad you liked this one, Julia and thanks for the five.
