How to make it

  • Combine onion, oil and cherry brandy.
  • Add squirrel pieces and coat thoroughly. Cover and chill for 5 hours.
  • Preheat grill to hot. Using metal skewers, pierce centers of each piece until full.
  • Balance skewers on a grill pan and cook for 5 minutes each side, or until juices run clean.
  • Serve hot with a spinach salad and soft crusty rolls.

    I guess my squirrels aren't fat enough. I boil it and then take meat off bone.Add to stew. real easy that way. My squirrels are fat (I thought), I don't see how you can cut up squirrel into 1 inch chunks. Or your saving up enough to get 16 0z. of meat. ??????????

    I like this alot. I have squirrel maybe once a year. We usually brown it and roast in a brandy cream type sauce. I haven't had it grilled for quite some time. This is a must try for me. The cherry brandy is perfect for this. Thanks for the recipe.... Jim
