How to make it

  • Cook onion in the oil until tender, but not brown.
  • Add pea pods and mushrooms; toss and cook over high heat 1 minute.
  • Dissolve the boullion cube in the boiling water.
  • Combine the cornstarch with the cold water; stir boullion and cornstarch mixture into the peas.
  • Cook, uncovered, over high heat until the mixture thickens.
  • Removed from heat immediately and toss with the toasted almonds.
