How to make it

  • Melt the butter in a pan over medium heat
  • Add garlic and the rest of the herbs and spices except cilantro
  • Saute for one minute, stirring, careful not to over brown the garlic
  • Add the drained tomatoes stirring well
  • Simmer for 3-4 minutes.
  • Remove from heat and place in a bowl
  • Stir in the lemon juice and cilantro.
  • Let cool and then cover.
  • Will keep for 4-5 days in the refrigerator
  • Use on burgers in place of catsup & mustard. Great on a grilled chicken pita along with a dollop of yogurt . Use as a side for chicken, lamb, beef, or pork. We love it just spread on a piece of bread!
