Baked Cranberries Recipe
BAKED CRANBERRIES This is a recipe I obtained from an Estate sale. I obtained it when I purchased the family collection from the Daly Estate in Harrell, Texas in 1988.

Ingredients
  • 1 quart fresh cranberries washed culled and drained
  • 1-1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup water

Directions
  1. While culling berries pierce each one with a needle to curtail bursting while baking.
  2. Place berries in a round shallow glass casserole dish and sprinkle with sugar.
  3. Toss to coat berries well.
  4. Make a hole in center of berries and pour water into hole but do not stir then cover.
  5. Bake at 300 for 45 minutes.
  6. Drain off berries and reserve liquid.
  7. Microwave liquid until thin syrup forms watching careful so it does not caramelize.
  8. Pour light syrup over berries then chill well before serving.
