How to make it

  • Preheat oven to 350.
  • In medium sized bowl, ream butter and sugars until well combined and light in color.
  • Add the egg and vanilla until well incorporated. Be sure to scrape the sides and bottom of bowl.
  • In another bowl, sift together flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt and cocoa powder. Add to butter mixture slowly, on medium speed. Be careful not to overmix.
  • Form dough into 1" balls.
  • Bake for about 10-12 minutes.
  • Let cool for a few minutes before transfering to a wire rack.
  • Once cookies are cooled but still slightly warm to the touch, lightly press an unwrapped kiss into the center. makes about 31/2 dozen cookies.
