How to make it

  • Preheat the oven to 175
  • Rinse the chickpeas
  • Place the chickpeas on a baking sheet so they are not touching each other (if possible)
  • Placet in the oven untill they are slightly toasted ,checking and turning them every 5 minutes or so. They should turn color lightly
  • After toasting, put them in a clean spice mill ,coffee grinder or blender and pulse till you get flour.

    Chickpea flour is sold in the local Indian Bazaar store . There are lots of different kinds of flour, and besan and gram are 2 different names for chickpea flour.

    thank you... this will be so much less expensive than buying the already made flour....

    I would suggest that you sift the flour before using to get out any pieces that did not grind up fine enough..
