How to make it

  • -soak dried chillies in water for an hour. drain and wash
  • -blend chillies with all ingredient except bilimbi and onion
  • -heat oil in saucepan
  • -fry onion till' soft
  • -pour in blended ingredients
  • -cook 20 min on low
  • -add salt, tamarind juice, and sugar
  • -add bilimbi and cook for 10 min
  • -serve with rice or as dipping sauce

    This sounds like it has quite an interesting flavor. I think I have seen bilimbi at a South Asian vegetable market in Chicago but didn't know what it was or how to cook it. Thanks for sharing the recipe....;-)~
