How to make it

  • Heat oven to 350 degrees F.
  • Combine flour, sugar, cocoa, baking soda and salt in large bowl.
  • Add milk, margarine, egg and vanilla.
  • Beat at medium speed, scraping bowl often, until well mixed.
  • Spread batter into greased 13x9-inch baking pan.
  • Sprinkle with brown sugar; sprinkle with chocolate chips.
  • Bake for 30 to 35 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
  • Cool completely.
  • 15 servings

    This is yummy gooey goodnes. I like the cake-like consistency and the brown sugar and chocolate chip topping melds together for an interesting top layer. Very easy to make and delicous!

    It's easier to cream the marg, sugar, egg and vanilla first, then add the milk followed by the dry ingredients. Less flour flying that way.

    Ooh, and if you like your bars "chewy", melt the margarine! Yummy!!
