From Ed Golas, don't even ask me how it wangled its way into the all-Italian "Fruit of the Spirit"! Sounds way good though especially to a cabbage lover!

Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup onion, chopped
  • 4 cups cabbage, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon caraway seeds
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • Pepper to taste
  • 8 ounce package egg noodles
  • 1/2 cup sour cream (optional)

Directions
  1. Melt butter in large skillet.
  2. Add onion; saute until tender.
  3. Add cabbage; saute 5 minutes OR until crisp-tender.
  4. Stir in caraway seeds, salt and pepper.
  5. Meanwhile, cook the noodles as directed on the package.
  6. Drain noodles well.
  7. Stir noodles into cabbage.
  8. Add sour cream, if desired.
  9. Cook 5 minutes longer, stirring frequently.

Omit the caraway seeds and substitute 2 tbs of a good quality hungarian paprika.
