  • 6 Whole Cloves
  • 1/2 teaspoon Nutmeg,grated
  • 1/2 teaspoon Cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon Orange zest
  • 2-(8 to 12 oz) Rib-Eye Steaks,about 1/2" thick

Directions
  1. Combine the wine and sugar in a large pan, bring to boil, lower heat and simmer for about 10 minutes.
  2. Stir in cloves, nutmeg, cinnamon and orange zest, remove pan from heat to cool.
  3. Place steaks in a large container, pour marinade over them, marinate steaks in refrigerator for a few hours (or) up to three days.
  4. Take steaks out of marinade, season with salt and pepper.
  5. Cook them in a VERY HOT Skillet, about 2 minutes on each side for medium rare.
  6. Slice the meat about 1/4" thick and serve.
  7. ~Note~ If you decide to prepare these steaks in a hot skillet, open the windows, this generates a tremendous amount of smoke.

The marinade here sounds delicious! I bet after 3 days of marinating, the steaks should be juicy and full of flavor!

I always use good wine when cooking any recipe especially a great steak recipe like this one with that orange element.
