You will love the flavor of chicken or pork chops coated with this very sweet, tasty rub. The brown sugar melts and caramelizes on the meat and creates a kind of juiciness like no other. This makes the second time I’ve typed this. Read more This time this is being done on a word processing program and I’ll just cut & paste it on to the site. This came out of a wonderful Leisure Arts book that I have that I’ve used time and time again: “Quick Gifts of Good Taste”. The original had ½ teaspoon of ground red pepper in it. I left it out as I prefer more flavor and less burn. See less
Ingredients
- ½ cup firmly packed brown sugar shopping list
- 2 Tablespoons ground cumin shopping list
- 2 Tablespoons chili powder shopping list
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon shopping list
- 1 teaspoon ground nutmeg shopping list
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder shopping list
- 1 teaspoon onion powder shopping list
- 1 teaspoon salt shopping list
- ½ teaspoon freshly ground pepper shopping list
- Mix all ingredients in a small bowl and then store in a air-tight jar and use on chicken, beef or pork chops. It is way better than Shake n Bake and better for you. I usually make up double the batch and when I coat the food I just put a little in a small bowl and dip into the seasoning. That way, it sticks on the food better. shopping list
