- "Meat Mixture" shopping list
- 2 1/2 lbs Hambuger shopping list
- 2 1/2 cups cooked rice shopping list
- 2 Diced onions shopping list
- To Taste garlic shopping list
- 2 1/2 tsp salt shopping list
- 3 6oz cans tomato paste shopping list
- 2 8oz cans Tomato sauce or puree shopping list
- 4 Tbsp sugar shopping list
- 2 1/2 tsp oregano shopping list
- 2 1/2 tsp cumin shopping list
- "Add Ons" shopping list
- Frito chips shopping list
- sour cream shopping list
- salsa shopping list
- lettuce Shredded shopping list
- cheese Shredded shopping list
- tomato Diced shopping list
- onion Diced shopping list
- avocado Diced shopping list
- olives Sliced shopping list
How to make it
- Cook rice set aside, brown meat-pour off fat, add onion and garlic, simmer until onion is soft, but not brown, add rice and the rest of the "Meat Mixture" ingredients, stir well after adding each.
- Simmer for at least 4 hours, tasting as it cooks add more water or seasoning if needed.
- Best if cooked one day, warmed up and servered the next.
- This is the basic "Meat Mixture" recipe. You can add any number of things to it, such as: Diced Ortega Green Chiles, Chile pepper flakes, Tabasco, or JalapeƱo Peppers.
- Place Frito Chips on plate, add meat mixture, then top with any or all of the "Add Ons".
- CAUTION: Start with small amounts the stack will get bigger than you think.
