CHERRY CHOCOLATE CREAM CHEESE CRESCENTS This recipe came from an estate sale. I obtained it when I purchased the family collection from the Crenshaw Estate in Grand Prairie, Texas in 1994.

Ingredients
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 4 ounces cream cheese softened
  • 1 teaspoon almond extract
  • 1/4 cup macadamia nuts
  • 8 ounce roll crescent roll dough
  • Glaze:
  • 1/4 cup chocolate chips
  • 1/2 teaspoon vegetable oil

Directions
  1. Heat oven to 350.
  2. In a small bowl combine powdered sugar, cream cheese and extract then blend well.
  3. Stir in macadamia nuts then separate dough into 8 triangles.
  4. Spoon 1 heaping tablespoon cream cheese mixture onto shortest side of each triangle.
  5. Loosely roll up starting at shortest side and rolling to opposite point.
  6. Place, point side down on baking stone or greased cookie sheet and curve into crescent shape.
  7. Bake 15 minutes then cool 5 minutes.
  8. Meanwhile in small saucepan over low heat melt glaze ingredients then stir until smooth.
  9. Drizzle over warm rolls then serve warm or cool and store leftovers in refrigerator.
