Apple Pie Ala Mode Ice Cream Recipe

People go nuts when I serve this. I came up with this idea when my pie got crushed. So I combined the crushed pie with the softened ice cream and served with a a caramel sauce .

Ingredients
- 1 gallon premium vanila ice cream
- 1 apple pie or apple tart ( Dutch apple pie is great, with the sugar glaze and raisins )
- caremel or desired sauce and or ice cream topping as desired
Directions
- Soften the ice cream.
- Chop up or crush an apple pie into chunks and blend into ice cream.
- Freeze to harden
- Serve the ice cream with a sweet side sauce if desired
- Note: although canned apple pie filling can be substituted for the pie, the pie ( esp a flakey or soft type of crust or even a nut crust ) really tastes great in the ice cream mixture.
- The flavors and textures go really well!
