- 4 tablespoons butter shopping list
- 4 tablespoons flour shopping list
- 1 cup chopped green onions shopping list
- 1/2 cup chopped celery shopping list
- 1/2 cup chopped green pepper shopping list
- 2 tablespoons chopped parsley shopping list
- 1 garlic clove crushed shopping list
- 8 ounce can Spanish style tomato sauce shopping list
- 16 ounce can whole tomatoes shopping list
- 1-1/2 cups hot water shopping list
- 1-1/2 teaspoons salt shopping list
- 1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper shopping list
- 1/4 teaspoon Tabasco hot pepper sauce shopping list
- 1/4 teaspoon thyme shopping list
- 1 bay leaf shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoon sugar shopping list
- 1-1/2 pounds shrimp shopping list
How to make it
- Melt butter then add flour to make a roux.
- Add fresh vegetables and cook for 5 minutes stirring constantly.
- Add remaining ingredients except shrimp then cover and simmer for 30 minutes.
- Before serving bring to a boil then add shrimp and bring to a second boil.
- Remove from heat and serve with rice.
