How to make it

  • Whisk together mayo, sugar, vinegar , onion and salt.
  • Toss with shredded cabbage and chill for at a few minutes. A few hours is better but not a necessity.
  • If you like sweeter slaw, increase the sugar and vinegar in equal proportions.
  • Red wine vinegars can vary quite a bit in flavor. My favorite for this recipe is Pompeian brand; good flavor without being too strong.
