Ingredients
  • Large box elbow macaroni (I use about 2/3 of box)
  • 16 oz. sharp cheddar cheese
  • 4 eggs
  • 1/2 stick butter melted
  • 4 c. milk
  • 1 tsp.salt
  • 1/2 tsp.pepper

Directions
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Shred cheddar cheese.
  3. Cook macaroni in salted boiling water until al dente, about 12 minutes, stirring so that it doesn't stick together, then drain.
  4. In a large bowl, beat eggs with wire whisk until whites and yolks are well mixed and lemon colored.
  5. Whisk milk, butter, salt and pepper in with eggs.
  6. Combine cheese, macaroni, and wet ingredients, reserving one cup of cheese.
  7. Pour into a 9 x 13 baking dish, and sprinkle remaining cheese on top.
  8. Bake for about 45 minutes, or until casserole is bubbly and lightly browned, and middle is firm.

Harley,
Your recipe sounds like just what I am looking for. No odd ingredients. I also like the fact that you don't call for bread crumbs on top. I like the taste and texture of the browned cheese!
I am sure my family will enjoy this recipe!
Thanks for posting it,
Bekisu
