Baked Mac And Cheese Recipe

This is a recipe form my Mom. We had this almost every Sunday with Fried Chicken and green beans

Ingredients
- Large box elbow macaroni (I use about 2/3 of box)
- 16 oz. sharp cheddar cheese
- 4 eggs
- 1/2 stick butter melted
- 4 c. milk
- 1 tsp.salt
- 1/2 tsp.pepper
Directions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Shred cheddar cheese.
- Cook macaroni in salted boiling water until al dente, about 12 minutes, stirring so that it doesn't stick together, then drain.
- In a large bowl, beat eggs with wire whisk until whites and yolks are well mixed and lemon colored.
- Whisk milk, butter, salt and pepper in with eggs.
- Combine cheese, macaroni, and wet ingredients, reserving one cup of cheese.
- Pour into a 9 x 13 baking dish, and sprinkle remaining cheese on top.
- Bake for about 45 minutes, or until casserole is bubbly and lightly browned, and middle is firm.

Your recipe sounds like just what I am looking for. No odd ingredients. I also like the fact that you don't call for bread crumbs on top. I like the taste and texture of the browned cheese!
