Ingredients
  • 6 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 3 eggs
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1/4 pound extra lean ground beef
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • dried garlic
  • any herbs you fancy
  • cubes of cheese for centre of meat (about 150g - 1/8th pound)
  • oil for deep frying

Directions
  1. In a medium bowl, mix together the ground beef, onion, salt and pepper and herbs until well blended. Set aside.
  2. In a large bowl, stir together the flour and salt.
  3. Pour in the eggs and milk, and stir until well mixed
  4. Form the dough into 2 inch balls, and roll out into circles 1/4 inch thick on a floured surface.
  5. Form the beef into golf ball sized balls,
  6. push a piece of cubed cheese into centre and close up
  7. and place each one onto one half of a dough circle.
  8. Fold the circles over to enclose the meat.
  9. Seal the edges with your fingers, use a drop of water in necessary
  10. Heat the oil in a deep fryer to 365 degrees F (185 degrees C),
  11. or over medium-high heat in a large deep skillet.
  12. Fry until golden brown, turning once.
  13. It should take about 10 minutes total for each batch.
