Decadent Spicy Hot Chocolate
From eyecook 15 years agoIngredients
- 1/2 cup + 2 TBSP cacao nibs shopping list
- 9 tsps sucanat or 1/4 cup agave nectar shopping list
- 4 cups milk (or soymilk or rice milk) shopping list
- dash of cayenne (optional) shopping list
- dash of cinnamon (only if you're not using the cayenne) shopping list
How to make it
- Grind the Cacao Nibs in a coffee grinder to a coarse powder consistency - you may have to do it in batches if the grinder protests and dogs down.
- Put the powdered nibs in a pot, add milk, add sucanat or agave nectar and slowly heat till just about boiling.
- Pour steaming liquid into cups, add dash of cayenne or cinnamon.
- Serve with a spoon and enjoy the chocolate overload.
- You could add paprika powder into the pot while it's heating - this will release the scent of the paprika and add no heat - so it's great for someone who would be sensitive to the heat but still wants that variety of a spicy taste...
