Triple Tier Chocolate Pie Recipe
TRIPLE TIER CHOCOLATE PIE This recipe came from an estate sale. I obtained it when I purchased the family collection from the Stricter Estate in Huntsville, Texas in 1987.

Ingredients
  • 1 baked pastry shell
  • 3 egg whites
  • 1/2 teaspoon vinegar
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 8 ounces marshmallows
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 2 squares unsweetened chocolate coarsely grated
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts

Directions
  1. Combine egg whites, vinegar and cinnamon then beat on medium until soft peaks form.
  2. Gradually add sugar then spread over bottom and up sides of baked pastry shell.
  3. Bake at 325 for 15 minutes then remove from oven and cool on wire rack.
  4. Heat marshmallows, milk, 1/4 cup of the whipping cream, chocolate and salt 3 minutes.
  5. Stir in vanilla then cool without stirring .
  6. Beat remaining whipping cream to soft peaks then fold into chocolate mixture.
  7. Chill until mixture mounds when spooned then turn into baked shell.
  8. Chill until firm then cover and chill to store.
