Red Chili

- 1 ½ pounds lean ground beef shopping list
- 1 onion – chopped or diced shopping list
- 3 garlic cloves - chopped shopping list
- 1 15.5 ounce can chili beans shopping list
- 1 15.5 ounce can red kidney beans OR black beans OR pinto beans shopping list
- 2 15.5 ounce can diced tomatoes shopping list
- 1 15.5 ounce can tomato sauce shopping list
- 1 tablespoon chili powder shopping list
- 1 teaspoon red chili flakes shopping list
- ½ teaspoon cayenne pepper shopping list
- 1 teaspoon salt shopping list
How to make it
- In large pot, medium high heat, with a little olive oil sauté onion and garlic until onion is soft. Stir in chili powder, chili flakes and cayenne pepper. Add ground beef and continue cooking until the beef is brown. Be sure you stir frequently.
- After the meat is brown, add in chili beans, other beans, diced tomatoes, tomato sauce. Simmer for 1 hour.
- If the mixture is too thick – add diced tomatoes.

Great Chili! I used 19oz cans of pinto and black beans. Since I used larger cans of beans I did add a little water as it was quite thick. I didn't use the chili flakes or cayenne as my daughter is very sensitive to it. But I did have a can of mild gr...more
