How to make it

  • Fry chicken in margarine or butter until golden brown
  • Add onion and garlic; simmer for 5 minutes, stirring carefully.
  • Add pepper, salt, basil, parsley, tomato sauce and wine, cover and simmer at least 45 minutes.= or until tender,
  • Push chicken to one side, bring to a boil, add shrimp and cook uncovered until pink.

    I love the idea of the port wine in the sauce - would sweeten up the tomato sauce a bit and add a nice overall flavor to the dish I would think...how can you beat chicken WITH shrimp? Too good! Thanks, mark.

    This dish sounds so incredible. I'll be tryng it out real soon. Thanks for sharing it with us. 5 forks. I too look for used cookbooks all the time. I find some wonderful ones that people have discarded in thrift shops & wonder why they would ever let them go. Of course I will need a bigger house if I keep going just to store them. Ha Ha. I can't seem to help myself, it's the first section I head for before the cooking pans.
