How to make it

  • Wash brussels sprouts and remove discolored leaves
  • Cut off stem ends and cut a shallow x on bottom of sprout
  • Add water and brussels sprouts to saucepan
  • Cover and bring to boil
  • Cover and reduce heat and simmer for 8-10 minutes or until tender
  • (For frozen sprouts, cook according to package directions)
  • Drain, put in serving dish and keep warm
  • In saucepan, combine oil and next 6 ingredients
  • Cook over medium heat until heated through
  • Pour over brussels sprouts
  • Sprinkle with walnuts and mandarin oranges
  • Gently toss to combine
