How to make it

  • Place squash halves cut side down in shallow baking pan.
  • Cover bottom with water.
  • Bake at 400 degrees for 60 minutes until tender.
  • Turn squash over.
  • Fill each cavity with applesauce and sugar.
  • Sprinkle with a scant amount of salt.
  • Dot with butter.
  • Sprinkle generously with cinnamon.
  • Continue to bake until applesauce is bubbly.
  • about another 10 minutes
  • Even kids who dislike squash will like this dish.
