A Banana Bread with Whiskey soaked raisins.

Ingredients
  • 1/4 Cup Jack Daniel's Whiskey
  • 1 Cup Raisins
  • 2 Cups AP Flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Baking Soda
  • 1 Cup Sugar
  • 1/2 Cup Butter
  • 2 Eggs
  • 3 medium Bananas, sliced thin
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla
  • 1/2 Cup Pecans or Walnuts

Directions
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  2. Rehydrate raisins in whisky.
  3. Sift together four, salt and soda.
  4. Cream Sugar and Butter together, once smooth, add eggs one at a time until combined.
  5. Add whisky, raisins, bananas and vanilla.
  6. Stir in dry ingredients and nuts.
  7. Pour the batter into a greased and floured loaf pan.
  8. Bake for one hour or until an inserted toothpick comes out clean.

I like the sound of this, I never would have thought to use raisins in my banana bread much less soaking them in JD.

All purpose flour is AP flour. I have a bunch of raisins that now have a purpose. Yummy.


Lol thanks I figured it out after I asked the question. I told everyone here about the recipe at home and friends I thought there eyes were going to pop out they loved the sound of the recipe :)
