How to make it

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  • Rehydrate raisins in whisky.
  • Sift together four, salt and soda.
  • Cream Sugar and Butter together, once smooth, add eggs one at a time until combined.
  • Add whisky, raisins, bananas and vanilla.
  • Stir in dry ingredients and nuts.
  • Pour the batter into a greased and floured loaf pan.
  • Bake for one hour or until an inserted toothpick comes out clean.

    I have been making this for years. Once I found it, I haven't made any others. Moist and just a hint of special flavor. Even better if a slice is warmed just a little before eating.

    lol thanks I figured it out after I asked the question. I told everyone here about the recipe at home and friends I thought there eyes were going to pop out they loved the sound of the recipe :)

    All purpose flour is AP flour. I have a bunch of raisins that now have a purpose. Yummy.
