Lemon Cream Scones

- 2 Cups all purpose flour shopping list
- 1/2 Cup sugar shopping list
- 1 1/2 teaspoon baking powder shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda shopping list
- 1 teaspoon lemon zest shopping list
- 6 tablespoons butter, at room temperature shopping list
- 1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice shopping list
- 1 1/4 cups plus 2 tablespoons whipping cream, divided shopping list
How to make it
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees; lightly grease baking sheet.
- Combine flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda and lemon zest in a medium bowl.
- Cut in butter using pastry blender until mixture is crumbly.
- Add lemon juice and 1 1/4 cups whipping cream, stirring just until dry ingredients are moistened.
- On lightly floured surface roll dough to 3/4 inch thickness.
- Cut with 2 1/2 inch round cutter, and place on baking sheet.
- Brush tops evenly with 2 tablespoons cream.
- Bake 17 to 19 minutes or until lightly brown.
- Makes 10 scones
