Cheesecake Swirl Brownies Recipe
These are awesome brownies. I got the recipe out of Gourmet magazine, and they're absolutely delicious. You have to try them.

  • FOR BROWNIES:
  • 1 stick (1/2 c) unsalted butter, cut into pieces
  • 2 ounce unsweetened chocolate, chopped
  • 1 c sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2/3 c AP flour
  • FOR CHEESECAKE:
  • 8 oz cream cheese, well softened
  • 1/3 c sugar
  • 1 large egg yolk
  • 1/4 tsp vanilla extract

Directions
  1. Preheat oven to 375 F with rack in middle of oven
  2. Butter 8 inch square baking pan
  3. Heat butter and chocolate in a saucepan over moderately low heat, whisking occasionally, just until melted
  4. Remove from heat and whisk in sugar, eggs, vanilla, and a pinch of salt until well combined
  5. Whisk in flour until just combined and spread in baking pan.
  6. Whisk together cheesecake batter ingredients in a small bowl until smooth
  7. Dollop over brownie batter, then swirl in with a knife or spatula.
  8. Bake until edges are slightly puffed and center is just set, about 35 minutes.
  9. Serve warm or at room temperature (Best when completely cooled)
