Bittersweet Chocolate Torte

- 1 pound unsalted butter shopping list
- 1 pound high-quality bittersweet chocolate, chopped shopping list
- 1 c strong coffee shopping list
- 8 eggs shopping list
- 1 c sugar shopping list
How to make it
- Preheat the oven to 350; butter the bottom and side of a 10" springform pan.
- Combine the butter, chocolate, and coffee in a double-boiler and melt slowly, stirring, until smooth.
- Remove from heat and let cool for 5 minutes.
- In a separte bowl whisk the eggs and sugar.
- Add egg mix to the cooled chocolate and whisk to combine.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan. Bake for 1 hour.
- When baked, cool on a rack to room temperature.
- Remove the side of the pan and cover with plastic wrap.
- Refrigerate for at least 6 hours.
- Cut into wedges and serve.
