Peppery Crock Pot Roast Recipe
PEPPERY CROCK POT ROAST This recipe came from an estate sale. I obtained it when I purchased the family collection from the Greene Estate in Mesquite, Texas in 1991.

Ingredients
  • 2 pound chuck roast
  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • 1 pound potatoes quartered
  • 4 carrots cut into 1” slices
  • 1 white onion chopped
  • 2 teaspoons beef bouillon
  • 2 cups hot water
  • 1 tablespoon crushed thyme
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon hot pepper sauce

Directions
  1. Place potatoes, carrots, onion salt and pepper in crock pot.
  2. Brown roast on all side sin oil then place on top of vegetable.
  3. Sprinkle with more salt and pepper.
  4. Mix bouillon, water, thyme and garlic then pour over roast.
  5. Sprinkle with hot pepper sauce then cook on low for 10 hours.
