Dry Rub For Ribs Recipe

Dry Rub For Ribs Recipe
Found this rub on recipezaar.com and have used it a lot on spare ribs and baby backs. Some reviewers stated they also used it on steaks and chicken. I usually leave sauce off my ribs and this rub was pretty good!

Ingredients
  • 5-6 lbs of baby back ribs
  • 8 tablespoons dark brown sugar
  • 1/2 tablespoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon old bay seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon each black and red pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon thyme
  • BBQ sauce

Directions
  1. Mix all dry ingredients well.
  2. Rub all sides of meat.
  3. Wrap meat in foil and let sit a few hours or overnight in fridge. ( I don't always follow this step)
  4. Bake meat wrapped in foil at 325 degrees for 2 1/2 hrs.
  5. You can now either put them in fridge for later grilling (for smokey flavor and to warm up) or put them on a medium hot grill and baste with sauce.
  6. I've also altered the spices according to my mood of the day as I'm sure many people do!
