Slow Cook Venison Roast Recipe

Slow Cook Venison Roast Recipe
I would love to give a beef roast the compliments like I do a deer roast. But you can not compare the two. The richness and flavor can only be found in deer.

  • 1 Tbl.salt
  • 1 Tbl. pepper
  • 1 Tbl. garlic powder
  • 1 Tbl. onion powder
  • 2 beef bouillon cubes crushed
  • 1/4 cup flour

  • 6 potatoes washed, peeled and quartered
  • 8-10 cups water
  • 1 envelope as sazon (optional)

Directions
  1. Mix salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder and beef bouillon cubes and sprinkle over roast. Smother roast with flour and pat to absorb as much flour as you can. Heat skillet and add vegetable oil and brown roast on all sides. Move roast to crock pot. With skillet still hot, add onion and minced garlic till translucent. Stir in 1/4 cup of water and stir, removing all the goodies off the bottom of the pan. Pour over roast in the crock pot. Add potatoes, remaining water and sazon. Cook for 8 hours.

Sounds good! I like the idea of adding sazon. I've started using it in my chili but haven't really considered other uses. Thanks for the idea. Keep the venison recipes coming! 5
