This is sometihng my grands used to make up and I would sneak when I was a child.

Ingredients
  • 1- 750 ml bottle of Spiced Rum. (I use Sailor Jerry's) or Home Made.
  • 1- 1/4 lb stick of butter
  • 1- cup Dark Brown Sugar.

Directions
  1. On a very low flame, melt butter in sauce pan.
  2. Add brown Sugar and stir until sugar is well blended.
  3. Add Rum only until it is nice and warm. DO NOT bring to a boil or get too hot.
  4. We like to serve in Demitasse cups with Saucers.

I've always wondered about hot buttered rum. It was very popular before butter got a bad rap. I'll have to try this. Thanks.

Oh my gosh! This one brings back memories of skiing in our local SB mountains. In the evening we would meet in the lounge and have a hot buttered rum, it would warm you up fast! Really, really good too!


Mmmmm...this is so dangerously tempting! Love the flavors here!
