Ingredients

1 lb ground turkey

3/4 orange pepper, diced small

1 small yellow onion, diced small

5-8 cloves garlic, minced (I used 8, 3 of which were small)

8-10 leaves sage

2 sprigs rosemary

4 sprigs thyme

1/2 cup shredded cheese (whatever you have on hand)

10 dashes hot sauce, optional (use more or less to suit your tastes)

salt and freshly ground pepper, to taste

Directions

Roughly chop all herbs.

Combine all ingredients. Mix until just combined and mixture just holds together; longer will make the burgers tough.

Form into 6 evenly sized patties.

Grill over medium-high to medium heat for 5 minutes per side.

Serve with assorted toppings (cheese, bacon, lettuce, tomato, onion, ketchup, relish, etc.).

I've been keeping my eye out for a good turkey burger to try on the grill this summer - I've eaten such excellent ones at restuarants, but just never tried them at home. This sounds perfect - can't wait to try this (maybe for the 4th?).
