Crazy Cake mix in a jar

Out of boredom and the need for a creative birthday present for a friend I found this little eggless gem. I like useful gifts.
Ingredients
- This is what you place in a jar or baggie. The rest of ingredients are found in directions: shopping list
- 2 cups flour shopping list
- ¾ teaspoon salt shopping list
- 2/3 cup cocoa powder shopping list
- 1 ½ teaspoons baking powder shopping list
- 1 1/3 cups sugar shopping list
- Measure out each ingredient combining salt and baking soda with flour. Layer ingredients in a quart wide mouth canning jar in given order. shopping list
- It is helpful to tap jar on a lightly padded surface. shopping list
- To top the jar off making it more decorative cut a 9 inch circle from fabric of your choice, fastening in place with a rubber band. You may wish to add raffia or ribbon bow to cover the rubber band. shopping list
How to make it
- Create and attach a card with the following directions:
- ¾ cup vegetable oil
- 2 tsp. vinegar
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 2 cups water
- Stir cake ingredients together using a wire whisk or fork,
- making certain that all ingredients are completely mixed together.
- Bake at 350f for 35 minutes. Frost as desired or serve sprinkled
- with powdered sugar, with fresh fruit on the side.
