Southern Banana Pudding Dated 1980 Recipe
SOUTHERN BANANA PUDDING DATED 1980 This recipe came from an estate sale. I obtained it when I purchased the family collection from the Miller Estate in Wills Point, Texas in 1992.

Ingredients
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 large cans evaporated milk
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 8 bananas
  • 1 box vanilla wafers

Directions
  1. Heat milk in medium saucepan.
  2. Using large bowl put 1/2 box of wafers and slice 1/2 of bananas.
  3. Beat eggs until frothy then pour some hot milk into eggs.
  4. Pour back into pan stirring constantly until mixture begins to thicken.
  5. Remove from heat then pour 1/2 mixture over bananas covering all.
  6. Add remaining wafers and slice remaining bananas.
  7. Pour remaining milk mixture over all bananas then cool and cover with plastic wrap.
  8. Refrigerate then serve plain or top with whipped cream.
