Red Cabbage And Apples In Creamy Caraway Sauce Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1/2 small red cabbage head
  • 2 tart apples
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon caraway seeds
  • 1/2 teaspoons alt
  • 1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

Directions
  1. Place cabbage cut side down on a cutting board.
  2. With a large stainless steel knife slice it into very thin shreds.
  3. Quarter the apples.
  4. Remove the cores and cut apples into 1/2" dices.
  5. Heat oil in a large frying pan.
  6. Add the cabbage and apples and cook over high heat stirring frequently for 6 minutes.
  7. Stir in the cream and caraway seeds then cook 4 minutes longer.
  8. Season with salt and pepper and serve hot.
