Easy, peasy cake.... Add stuff to it if you want to jazz it up, but great the way it is....

Ingredients
  • 250g butter
  • 1 1/2 cups brown sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 2 cups plain flour, isfted
  • 1 1/2 tspns baking powder
  • 1/3 cup cocoa powder, sifted
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 250g dark chocolate, melted
  • Chocolate Glaze
  • 150g dark chocolate, chopped
  • 1/2 cup cream

Directions
  1. Preheat oven to 160 deg C
  2. Grease 22cm round cake tin
  3. Place butter and sugar in an electric mixer bowl and beat til light and creamy
  4. Add eggs and beat well
  5. Sift flour, baking powder and cocoa over teh butter mix, add sour cream and chocolate and mix til just combined
  6. Pour mix into the tin and bake at 55-6- mins or until just set. Cool in tin
  7. To make glaze, combine chocolate and cream in a saucepan over low heat and stir til smooth
  8. ALlow glaze to stand for 5 mins before spreading over top of cake

This sounds good. and for reference:
160C is 325F
250g of butter is about 2 sticks plus 2Tbs.
250g dark chocolate is about 8.82oz. or about 1.39C of chips. Or about 1 1/3C plus a few chips shy of 1Tbs.
150g dark chocolate is about 5.29oz. 0r about .83C of chips. Or about 3/4C plus a heaping Tbs.
